Woodworking Classes

INTRO TO BOWL TURNING:

When: Sunday, October 18th, 2026, from 10am - 2pm.

Teacher: James Gurney

Where: AWF Warehouse 

Come learn how to turn a beautiful wood bowl or brush up on your skills. First, you will turn a honey dipper to learn cuts and get comfortable on the lathe. Then you will move on to turning a bowl. James has been turning for over 20 years and is a fantastic teacher. There are only three spots available for the class, so snag one quickly if you’re interested.

Where: AWF Warehouse

Full day class that builds on intro to bowl turning. This class will focus on calabash bowls in the morning and live/natural edge bowls after lunch. This is an intermediate class and requires students know how to turn a bowl unassisted. There are only 3 spots for turning classes.

Intro to Hollowing Forms Class.

When: Saturday, November 14th, 2026, from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Teacher: Jaramiah Severns

Where: AWF Warehouse

Full day class that gives students a primer on turning hollow forms. We will start with enclosed vessels in the morning, then move into basic hollow forms after lunch. This is an intermediate class and requires students know how to turn a bowl unassisted. There are only 3 spots for turning classes.
